Alisha Allana studied medicine at University College London, where she also gained a First Class degree in Pharmacology. After qualifying in 2014, she commenced her initial medical and anaesthetic training in London.

She subsequently completed her speciality training for anaesthesia in Wessex, with sub-speciality rotations in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care at University Hospital, Southampton, and Harefield Hospital, London.

She was appointed as a substantive consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at University Hospital, Southampton in 2024. She is accredited in transoesophageal echocardiography with the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

She has a longstanding interest in training and education: she is a recognised educational supervisor, an Advanced Life Support Instructor and the Course Director for TOE the Line (echo revision course). She is the author of “Clinical Cases for the
FRCA” and “A Beginner’s Guide to Anaesthesia”.

Her private practice includes the provision of both general anaesthesia and conscious sedation for patients requiring cardiac surgical, cardiology or general surgical procedures, and the provision of cardiac intensive care.
